Rome is the center of the Catholic world and reaches in the Holy Week the peak of its religious importance. Many are the events and the celebration which can be followed. On March, 25th, the Palm Sunday and Passion of the Lord on Saint Peter's Square, at 9:30 His Holiness the Pope will celebrate the Blessing of the Palms, Procession and Holy Mass. On March, 28th there will be the usual Papal Audience and on March, 29th, Holy Thursday, again in the Vatican Basilica, at 9:30 the Chrismal Mass and in the afternoon, in the Basilica of Saint John Lateran, at 17:30 the beginning of the Paschal Triduum with the Papal Mass of the Lord's Supper. The day after, March, 30th, the Good Friday, in the Vatican Basilica, at 17:00, Papal Mass with the Celebration of the Lord’s Passion. In the evening, starting from 9:15, there will be the striking ceremony of the Way of the Cross, guided by the Pope around the Colosseum. On March, 31, in St.Peter’s basilica at 9:00 p.m., the Papal Mass of the Easter Vigil, awaiting for the Easter Sunday Mass, celebrated on April, 1st at 10:15, on St.Peter’s Square, followed by the Urbi et Orbi Message and Blessing given by the Pope from the Central Loggia of the Vatican Basilica, at 12:00. Finally, on April 2nd, the Angel’s Monday, the Regina Coeli, directly from the window of the Papal palace at 12:00.
